Computer science student · systems, tools & libraries

Profile#

Third-year computer science student and developer with more than ten years of programming experience. I build and operate software used by hundreds of thousands of people: a sharded Discord bot with 200,000+ users, a JavaScript library with 120,000+ downloads, and developer tools in C++, Rust and Python. Strongest in C++, Python and JavaScript, comfortable anywhere from Linux internals to the web.

Experience#

Relaxy! · creator and sole developer#

2021 – present · relaxy.xyz

  • Designed, built and operate a multipurpose Discord bot serving 200,000+ users across 280+ servers.
  • Sharded architecture (a manager and N cluster processes) on Node.js and MongoDB, with 162 public commands and 58 event handlers.
  • One moderation pipeline shared by commands, the dashboard and cross-server sync; OCR and perceptual-hash scam detection.
  • Built the Fastify dashboard (Discord OAuth, three permission tiers, CSRF protection, allow-listed writes), the website and the public status page.
  • Run the whole ecosystem on a single Raspberry Pi: Podman and bubblewrap isolation, health probes for 24 services, a hardware watchdog and incident tooling.

Fancy Games · community manager, Escape the Backrooms#

Ongoing

  • Help run the official community for Escape the Backrooms.
  • Own the Escape the Backrooms Community organisation: a speedrun verification bot (Python, talking to Discord's gateway directly), the LiveSplit autosplitter, a UE4SS fork and the community wiki.

Student research group · founder#

University

  • Founded and run a student research group focused on machine learning.
  • Take part in hackathons, WDI events and CTFs.

Selected open source#

  • emoji-mixer (JavaScript): 120,000+ npm downloads, 1,221 dependent repositories; shrank a 96 MB dataset to 2.4 MB.
  • LogEye (Python): runtime introspection logger built on sys.settrace, 10,000+ PyPI downloads.
  • Lexiglance (C++26, Qt 6): system-wide pop-up dictionary reading text through accessibility APIs or OCR, with offline translation.
  • simple-project-tracker (Python): CLI with frecency lookups, undo and a background daemon; about 10,500 lines and 17 test modules.
  • hprint (C++23): header-only library for centred terminal headers.

Education#

Computer science, undergraduate#

2024 – present

  • Projects beyond the brief: a multithreaded neural network from scratch (C++26), a multi-process hospital simulation using only POSIX IPC (C++20), a sorting visualiser and benchmark suite (OpenGL, SDL3), finite-difference solvers for PDEs.

Skills#

  • Languages: C++ (up to C++26), C, Rust, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Bash
  • Systems: Linux, POSIX IPC, processes and signals, X11, AT-SPI, UI Automation, Podman, bubblewrap, runit, nftables
  • Backend: Node.js, Bun, Fastify, MongoDB, WebSockets, OAuth2, REST and GraphQL
  • Tooling: Git, CMake, GitHub Actions, packaging for npm, PyPI, AppImage, deb and rpm
